Cardioke (?)

Have you ever looked at the onDemand section of your DVR (that's what it's called on Insight, at least, and I think it's the same for Comcast, etc.) and noticed "Exercise TV" in the free section? I wanted to go running today but it's about 200 degrees outside and 300% humidity, so I decided to do a little workout in my living room instead. I had planned on finding a yoga video, but "Cardioke" caught my eye.

VERY strange. Seriously, you have to check this out. It's taught by Billy Blanks' son, and you do all these dance moves ... and have to sing along to songs like "Don't Cha" and "Let's Get it Started." He claims that by singing you double the calories burned (this sounds suspicious to me), and it is just so funny to watch all these sweaty dancing people belt out tunes.

But wait, there's more! The last song (during the cool-down) is one that his wife wrote in response to e-mails from people who do the video. I believe it's called "you are enough" or something like that, and it's all about how you're good enough just the way you are. I am not sure I'm doing the weirdness of this workout justice in this post, so you should all go and give it a whirl on your onDemand asap. And do it soon, b/c I think it's only available for a few more days!

OK, just wanted to share that ...

  1. that is so funny! When I work out I am so out of breath, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to sing at the same time!
