Champagne Saturday: wine and khakis

As this posts, I am suffering through day two of re-learning Constitutional Law in bar review and I just may be poking my eyes out while filling in my fill-in-the-blank note worksheets. But the good news is that I get to leave an hour and a half early today, because I am going to a WEDDING! I am slightly obsessed with weddings.

This will not be your normal wedding -- my cousin is getting remarried and he and his fiancee would prefer to elope. But, they have kids who want to see the wedding, so this is a very low-key affair. As in, the ceremony is in the bride's mom's backyard, and the reception is at my aunt's pool. No, not a reception poolside with tea candles floating on the water, and my friend assumed when I described this, but an actual pool party. The kids got to pick the recepton site, and my aunt's house is party-central. They even have a kegerator and a giant helium tank at their house, for all the parties they throw.

Anyway. Apparently everyone (in the bridal party! the bridal party may just be their 5 kids, though) is wearing khakis and a white shirt. My mom suggested I do the same, but I don't think I could handle wearing khakis to a wedding, no matter how casual it is. So I will probably go against the grain and wear some sundress. Because this reception is at my aunt's pool, I am guessing there will be plenty of alcohol -- probably lots of wine. Perhaps even a bloody mary. You know about my obsession with those. So even though I should be learning about a bunch of amendments and boring cases instead of boozing poolside, I will have to put my studies off for tomorrow, I suppose.
