chi-town bound

Good work on the blog hops, Taddy! I would do all three of them, but I am leaving for Chicago tomorrow at 8 am and still have to pack, clean my apt so my friend who's cat-sitting won't be appalled, read 50 pages of bar review stuff (ha!), watch a 3-hour bar review lecture online (definitely not going to happen), and set out the Prozac for Mabel while I'm gone. :) I would say just kidding about that last part, but alas, I am not. I have a prozacat.

ANYWAY, I am headed to the windy city for one of my college suite-mate's weddings at the Harold Washington library!!

I have never been to a wedding in a big city (horse farms and vineyards are more the thing here :) ) and I am very excited to see what it's like!

Plus, I did the name your own price thing on priceline and was lucky enough to get a reservation at Swissotel -- which I know almost nothing about except that it is four stars and will cost less than 2 or 3 star hotels because, like William Shatner, I drive a hard bargain. Anyway, I was REALLY proud of myself bc I found such a good deal, but then I started reading reviews and valet parking (which is the only kind available) is ....

$52/night!!!!!

Good grief. This is why I live in Kentucky, where an expensive place to park is like 8 bones. Oh well, what can you do. I sold some blood last night so I could afford it.

(Just kidding - giving blood is scary.)

Anyway, it should be a fun weekend. The hotel is near the bean and I love the bean! Plus I'm going to try to convince Evan to leave early so we can stop at the outlet malls on the way ...
