We didn't do a whole lot of shopping this past weekend in NYC (I KNOW!), with me being so obsessed with finding and eating every famous junk food known to Manhattan (pretty much everything on the junk food pyramid was covered). However, I did find a couple of awesome things that I thought I'd share.
First, we went to Fishs Eddy (yeah, no apostrophe. I thought it was weird too.), where they have the cutest dishes and random stuff. (I carried around a little ceramic hand/arm that was actually a rubber glove mold until I told myself I really did not need that.) But my favorite movie when I was little was The Wizard of Oz. My mom recorded it off tv for me and I watched that tape about a million times. There are videos of me when I was about 3 singing the songs -- I knew all the words. I was devastated (and threw a huge fit) when my grandmother accidentally recorded over my beloved tape - so she bought me the VHS (in the puffy case), which I then watched another million times. ANYWAY. When I saw this set of glasses, I knew I had to have them:
They also had a set of "strip-tea glasses", which were also adorable and would be perfect for a bachelorette party. (My friend bought some of the coasters for a party we're going to in August. The guy at the cash register gave us a hard time ... so perhaps order them online if you're shy like me.)
Then, as I mentioned the other day
, I bought a very Blair Waldorf headband at Bendel's -- some asked to see it, and here you go:
The headband is being modeled by my beloved mannequin. Back in the '50s, my grandfather worked at a department store in Lexington. It closed, but he kept this mannequin and used it in his own store later. She lived in my grandparents' basement for quite a while, then they moved to a smaller house and tried to kick her to the curb -- but I rescued her from the streets. Now she models clothes in my living room - and scares all my friends. Right now she is still wearing her UK gear from the tournament, so you just get a headshot. Anyway, there is my headband. Very Minnie Mouse-esque, perhaps, but I love it. And, as you can see, Blair and I could be twins.

Actually, the mannequin is also wearing some new hair from NYC. She used to wear a very ugly curly wig, but I found this one for only $9.99 -- and obviously had to have it. She's looking much more stylish now. She is also modeling a scarf I bought at some boutique - just basic black.
And on that note, I will leave you with Miss Maybelline, who is getting so big and wanted to be part of the photo shoot of the day:
MEOW.
