Holiday photos!

I've been (as usual) a bad blogger and have completely forgotten to even sign on to my computer lately!! I hope everyone is having a fabulously fun holiday season! I don't have much going on that is blog worthy entertainment - but I thought I'd share some photos I tinkered with on this iphone app Deena got me hooked on!

Jingle Bells...

I finally put up my mini Christmas tree and even the weather has gotten cooler here so who knows maybe snow in FL this year for Christmas??? I can dream - although, I'm sure the snow birds would be upset by this as they come down here to avoid the snow... oh well!! :)
{I love what I call "candy land" colors on my tree but I'd also love to do a black and white tree someday!}
I want to send a variety of cookies and brownies to Max, Al, and Sarah but I'm conflicted because a lot of my fabulous ideas involve icing and I know that will get very messy and ugly in the shipping process. So I can't use icing but I'm thinking that harder icing might work for decorating cookies... I've had so many ideas pop in my head I need to start to write them all down so if I don't try them this year I can try them next year! I'm also trying to figure out a way to make a separator within a cookie tin to keep the different flavors separate from each other as I'm a bit of an organization freak! Any ideas besides cardboard (fresh non used before) wrapped in saran wrap so it is more sanitary??

I baked the peppermint patty brownies again {see my first go at this here} but this time I used the tricks I wanted to try the next time I made them and I think I have perfected them!! Sava's mom believed they were illegal in several states due to how good the were (best compliment ever!!) :) and even I could admit they were pretty sweet I had an instant sugar high after eating one of the brownies. I used peppermint m&m's as the top layer instead of the andes mints that I used on Cat's birthday brownie "cake". It gave the brownie a more Christmas feeling with the colors!

{my ever faithful sugar hound!}

Well I'd better go decide on what I'm going to bake so I can pick up the ingredients tonight!  What is your favorite holiday treat?
Have a fabulous weekend!!

**I thought I had posted this on Saturday - I woke up my desktop which I hadn't used since then and realized it was still waiting to be posted!! Ooops! I ended up making some goodies on Sunday and shipped them out on Monday so Allison and Sarah should get theirs today and I had perfect timing sending them since it has been in the 30's here in FL and then chilly even in the afternoon they probably did not melt like they would have had it been the typical temperatures here!! Now I'm crossing my fingers they taste okay still!**
{so cold yesterday I had to wear my "CO" jacket and a fleece underneath and gloves - LOVED it! And no snakes were out and about which was AMAZING!} :)

Florida...

I'm not really loving you right now because:

{1} It's so freaking hot I keep having snake encounters and I'm petrified of snakes! Snakes up the garage, huge snake at the front door, snake in a hedged bush at the entrance of my neighborhood at arm level climbing around in the freaking bush - now I have to be scared of them off the ground too! (Yes I know they climb I preferred to pretend they didn't but now I can't.

{2} I would just like it to be in the 60's or 50's so the snakes will go hibernate and maybe I can sneak a wear out of one of my new Christmas jackets (that I don't get until Christmas unless it gets cold) ;) JCrew sale 65% off each jacket which meant Santa bought me two!!! YAY!!!
{3} I can't get motivated to put up the Christmas tree because it is so warm here and I grew up with cold Christmas seasons! I'm a bit grouchy at Christmas in FL because all I want is the cloudy gray skies, a chill that makes Starbucks hot drinks perfect, winter coats, and some snow and them I'm ALL about the Christmas spirit - in FL sweating, avoiding snakes, and wanting to wear jeans just make it still feel like summer not Christmas! Because of this I'm tempted to fly to the boyfriend's for Christmas although my parents may hate me being that I'm an only child and only relative in the country and was gone last year for Christmas. After 9 Christmases in FL after this year I'm finished and I'm Christmas-ing in the COLD for the next 9! (The first was a family reunion at Disney when we still lived in KY, after being promised I'd never have to Christmas in warm weather again, the next year my dad moves jobs and moves to FL - and even though Allison's family said I could Christmas with them which I was SUPER PUMPED about - hello small family we get bored of each other especially with no relatives in the same continent- my parents forced me to leave princess at home that Christmas and fly to FL and I was pissed the WHOLE time- and I have had to spend Christmas here ever since <- "had" may sound snotty but I really hate warm weather holidays especially now that I'm not in Colorado and can have early cold Christmas time feeling before heading back to FL for the actual holiday... I forgot how mad I was and didn't want to move to FL - I love the beach but honestly I think I'd rather have my parents still in Lexington!)
Christmas & Holiday photos in KY & CO (they just are more festive!):

{4} Coco Chanel wants a reason to sport her sweaters and Christmas wear and frolic in the snow like she did in Colorado (and so do I - Princess used to love to play in the snow with me - she would have loved a winter Christmas again!)

I Love the snow:
Okay well I'll get over my grouchiness at wanting the snow at Christmas by actually decorating this year I'll have to bust out my Christmas decorations from the attic in the garage and hang some lights outside (well have dad hang lights because I don't want to run in to snakes!!!) Maybe some of you grew up somewhere cold and now live somewhere warm and can relate and I know I sound a bit complain-y but I love Christmas and MISS cold weather holidays A LOT!!
